Also, on the sign up sheet, if you have an availability to help recruit more votes and help do a little outreach please let me know as I would like to help other good candidates get seated on to the Venice Neighborhood Council as well. Ensuring a truly inclusive council and representation requires as much help as we can get. If everyone contributes a little time we can make it happen.

My VNC Executive Seat Recommendations

In addition to voting for me for At-Large Community officer there are also Executive seats that are just as important to vote for. The following people are people who I trust and the ONLY  executive seat candidates who have shown commitment and support to our movements for equity and racial justice.

My Candidate Statement

I am a 5th generation Venetian. Accomplished Indigenous educator at the forefront of Venice’s most critical and successful civil rights actions. I am outspoken and hold all to task regarding values and tangible actions that defend and promote environment for true diversity in Venice to thrive. Solutions need comprehensive participation and collaboration. We will never accomplish that with a consistently homogenous VNC board making top-down decisions or enabling leaders who reinforce those inequities.

I work to ensure that all voices are included in the collaboration process and reflected in the solutions for our community. The surge in violence and the rising population of unhoused citizens is a concern for everyone but we can’t incarcerate ourselves out of these issues. Intelligent, comprehensive, and bottom-up solutions involving all economic, residency, and racial backgrounds of Venice are needed to tackle the root issues of these concerns.
